Cassandra
Cassandra be thy alter name,
sorrowful shall you play the game.
To see and speak
Only to find,
"You cannot see," they say, "you are blind."
To know what ne'er can be expressed
To turn away with all your best.
Cassandra, so strong and true,
Cassandra dear, I hear you.
I see so much of the doublespeak and psycho manipulation of society so clearly that I feel like Cassandra of Troy. She was a blind prophet cursed to know the truth but doomed to be ignored.
I see it, but it is a monster so great one cannot even see it all at once. The polarity of American society has now infected it on every level and the power addicts are pulling on it like the strings of a marionette.
The pines fall anywhere you respond best. Whatever programming takes hook will do. Faith, lifestyle, race, political leaning, gender, generation, economic class, you name it, they can split hairs over it.
I see in my spouse and in the american TV shows, the news, Internet contributions, etc. The society is rife with schism and the people crying for connectedness. Meantime the corporate engine drives more knives, encouraging the breaking of bonds at every turn, to be replaced with labour and toys.
It is very hard to witness.
