Growing up society?

Would you believe one photograph of a handsome young stranger could generate enough noise online to become noise on the tv?  Here is proof positive that teenagers are slaves to their hormones.  It started with a reaction from teen girls, their estrogen flaring and taking over their minds.  Suddenly they're all crushing on this anonymous stranger and he's losing anonymity quickly.
Then a few days later, all the teen boys get on the girls' bandwagon and start discussing said young man, a rival.  They are not so affectionate.  No, they're jealous and hyperbolic.  Before long it's quite obvious that teenagers don't understand boundaries as this poor young man is excoriated in public by his unknown millions of peers.  He is threatened with harm and cursed with every curse a foolish boy could imagine.
He didn't even post a selfie, a friend took his portrait at work and uploaded it.
This is why teenagers don't have voting rights, drinking rights, and other full adult rights.  They're not adults, and while their cognitive reasoning skills may be at a peak, so are their emotional tugs and for most of the, there's not enough control.  They not only wind up choosing the emotional response, but will argue, with reason, why emotion is more important than consequences.  Why it is more important to avoid feeling bad, than to save the world or prevent harm to a child.  That is why they are still children, they are.  Adults are expected (or used to be) to have better self control, the ability to face personal suffering and discomfort for the better good, and the sense to ask if they can't tell themselves.    Since we are empowering our teens and overlooking adult tantrums in public, or even rewarding same, the result is a lot more adults who did not learn to develop reason over emotion.
Throw in the fact that we've allowed our educational institutions to become corrals for the kids in which they are permitted to spend their time mating instead of applying themselves and learning self discipline, we're also turning out ignorant emotional adults.
One of the advantages of the concept of abstinence till marriage was that it reminded young adults that they're too young for such adult games.  Now they're getting into it before puberty, focusing their energies on mating at a very young age. "Who's your bae?  Did ya kiss her?"  I mean, why wouldyou want   a kid worrying about all that?  For that matter, how many of us really need to breed, to focus on learning to provide a home for children, and make the long lasting marriage work so they can provide a stable caretaker for the children, and so forth?  think about it, what's the best use of theaverage  adult human in your city?  Babysitting and raising more children or building up the city and  its people?  If humans were scarce on the planet, sure, and you could also make a case for couples who are both recessive phenotypes to breed, but otherwise, arent there a lot of us here by now? Wouldn't fewer children likely recieve better care due to the volume of childless couples around to help?  We could encourage slower breeding simply by changing the future focus of our chhildren.  Plenty of them would still have babies, but many of them would choose other places to put their energy and we'd all benefit!
