quiet day

Twas a day spent at home.  Dan got paid enough that I can cover all our bills tomorrow and still pick up food, so that's good.  I spent the day at home doing housewife stuff.  The floors got cleaned, a pie was baked, and spaghetti became.  The pie is made with a marzipan crust.  I mix ground almonds with enough honey to clump it and as much cocoa butter as I can afford to throw at it, about a quarter cup today for 6C flour and uhm, from .5-1C of honey but I pour as the mixer turns the mix and stop when consistency is reached.
Then I pour in the melted cocoa butter which holds the crust together better after baking.  This is used more or less like pie crust, though it doesn't transfer neatly after rolling (wet tools).  No matter, you can work it as much as you like with your hands till it's even and uniform.
Toss in the apples, I included cinnamon, pecans, and a drizzle of honey.  Make a lid out of the other half of the stuff and bake low heat till the apples are cooked! I dunno how you know, I let the scandihoovian kitchen witches tell me.  I had extra marzipan for a snack.  It bakes well, and eats well raw!
Then I marbled a couple boxes and made spaghetti from scratch using squash for noodles and ground chicken in the sauce made from canned tomatoes and fresh pepper, herbs, garlic, etc.  Yummy.  It was nice having the time at home after going out day after day.  Yesterday I picked up the qchord and bath stuff at Lush.  God I love that place. What a miracle it is!  Scent without stink, it's clean real fragrances!  It's pricey stuff but sure works a treat.
The eclipse was mildly interesting and I'm glad I popped out a couple times for a peek.  I filmed it only one time and should really have grabbed my camera the second but it was so fleeting I wouldn't likely have made it.  Just gaps in the clouds.  The first gap was still clouded enough to filter out the sun and make it safe to look directly.  The second, however, I used a pair of 3d glasses together to darken the light enough for safe viewing.  In the first, I could see a "bite" out of the upper right.  In the second the 'bite" had moved to the upper left.
Whoopie....  LOL, it's cool enough.  I've seen better, though, in my life.  A total eclipse on a sunny summer day as a kid was the best, but there's also been some cool lunar eclipses. We used exposed and developed film from the end of the roll to view that childhood eclipse, three layers thick.
