Putting on the brakes

Hummm, so I got my brakes diagnosed.  Firstly, they have to outsource it so they're working to help me find another shop to do the work. Secondly, it's really rather dangerous and the drive back and forth to the farmhouse might be stupid AF.  I'm camped out at Walmart, not sure how long they tolerate or if I need to shift slightly on the daily.  As long as the brakes stay cool, they won't catch fire.  As long as the line holds, they won't freeze shut. But it's leaking badly enough to cause the beep, the fluid loss, and so on. I forgot about the fluid loss.  Yeah, so one of the wheels has a badly screwed brake cylinder.  It's not something we can't do ourselves, actually, if we have large enough tools.  So if everyone says flat out no, we drive gently back to the farm and figure out how to elevate the one wheel in question. What bugs me most right now is there's two wheels there, where is the brake drum?  I am not unfamiliar with the things and Dan's actually done work on them, so we *could* potentially repair it ourselves out at the farm, if we can order the necessary parts.  Not sure how we jack up the wheel on soil, mind you, uncompacted soil at that.  Well, not so bad that it sinks the wheels.  Just that a jack would need more.  I do have a suitable jack to get it off the ground. But then how to remove that wheel?  It's bigger than us.  That dude who did the front wheel last year just lifted it up and down.  Normal daily operations.  He made it look so easy I didn't even think about it.

It's really weird being back in brightly lit noisy parking lots.  there are a lot of really inconsiderate and downright hostile vehicle owners with loud pipes.  They know the RVs are sleeping and they come rev and idle and race by.

Been battling a sore shoulder and posture issues for a few weeks now. I wake up with a sore arm. I can't lay on one side at all.  The other morning even my pecs spasmed o something. nasty.  on the upside, I'm able to actually run now, about a half a block or so, which is fabulous and I"m working on my technique to make it more efficient and less breathtaking.  I love those 5 finger shoes.  I will be super sad if I lose them all and can't replace them.  They're also fabulous for climbing around on the roof.  my bathtub blew off.  If had been betting on the most likely item, it would be that, followed by the kayak. Said vessel almost did blow off on the way down and has since been retied better. Same with the tub this morning.  But yeah, yesterday it flew off to the shoulder.  Dan picked it up in his van. Whoops. Well, it had to happen. I since put some catch holes in the rim to put bungee hooks and then reefed down a pair of straps so hard it warped.

Wish with e that we find a mechanic and that my wheel holds up until then.  A fire is tow truck time and that is really spendy. Yep, I do have fire extinguishers, including one ready to hand in the cab.
