gobsmacked
We arrived at the rural jobsite on the edge of a tiny village and the night sky is unimpeded like I haven't seen it since last century. I missed the stars so badly. It's hard not to try and sleep out under them. My neck hurts from craning up. The whole of Draco, my name for our galaxy, is displayed above, misty cloudy bits and all. In fact, I read somewhere recently that this part of the continent is sparsely enough populated to qualify as a dark sky preserve. Whew, it sure is! As a child I almost took it for granted, but of course, one cannot stop being awed by the night sky, regardless how often it is there. It's better than TV. Just lay there looking up and your brain never stops having interest in it. Wipes away worries and cares of the day and just leaves me inspired. It was a very short time ago that I wished to see them soon, expecting to wait until we boondock in the mountains. Here it is, though. Wow. I really should get out my cameras while here and get some night shots, just for the challenge. But I guess I might not make time, because I've already picked up a pair of sewing jobs on site, as well as having laid myself out an agenda already. I was going to wash my sheepskins and carpet, bake up cake and cookies and boil eggs and pickle them, bake bread maybe, work myself up a genuine bath in my bath tub using kettle heated water, finish some felt and all while keeping up on combing wool, knitting yarn and getting back to the embroidery projects. Oh, and still keeping up running errands into the city for refills of generator fuel and food.
LOL
I got some cookies baked and eggs pickled, but have more eggs to pickle still. 3 more batches potentially. Got a bunch of crap moved out of my bus to make room to work. so yeah, was a productive day and the pink hat is well under way and the leaf tie is all knitted up and ready for a dye job, yet another project I'd like to get done here. all that and on the 25th, my brake job is scheduled. Sooooo, going to see how efficient I can be, I guess. I expect some of those projects may not get done, but you know I am always impressing myself with how much more I get done than I thought I could.
