shovel your sidewalk!

For blessed are they who ply with shovel and scraper to bring civilized concrete once again to light.  Upon them may shine the warm suns of summer and a blessing on all their kin who also shovel!
A pox and damnation on all those who do not.  May they find themselves well entrenched in the cold bite of a Saskatchewan winter for every day until they learn to clear their walks!
It's not just handicapped people, although that ought to be more than enough.  It's not just the letter carriers, paper carriers, couriers, and school children.  It's not just the cyclists who can't push the bike through deep snow or use the fouled streets full of sliding metal.
It's all of us, it's the look of the neighborhood, and it's often just ten lousy feet in the middle of the block!
So I rode my bike downtown on an errand today.  It was hard work but I know I needed it physically and mentally and I even feel less moody for it.
I'm fooling with gold leaf again.  Neon orange box, and I'm embedding gold flake, big sloppy wrinkled flakes, with clear gloss.  It takes a long drying time.I think it'll look pretty cool when I finish.  I'm considering bronzed borders.
I have a hot pink one I can't seem to start.  I have some paints in the same colour I love too, but somehow it seems a shame to cover that gorgeous pink at all!  LOL, so I'm kind of letting it sit there and see.
Here comes the interrupter, I'm being manteruppted so I'll quit this blogging today and let him maunder and mumble bs at me till he's finished in the kitchen.
