covid deniers
One thing we learned from the character of Scrooge as written by C. Dickens is that wealthy people think about "reducing the surplus population." Nobody's really surprised about that. Except maybe their innocent family members.
Now everyone knows who the expendables are, they're the folks who require car. Whether because they're old or disabled. They're the care home residents. Also known as "the vulnerable population" whom the Fox and allied networks want to test the vaccine on first. They're making the excuse that this will "protect" the vulnerable but given how rushed the vaccine is, it's much more likely they're choosing guinea pigs.
But then there's this whole demographic of working class people being told Covid19 is fake. Don't worry about it. Resist it. Refuse all attempts to contain the virus as impingements on your freedom and the first in a long series of controls.
One might wonder why? Why convince the workers to die off in droves and spread the disease? Doesn't make sense, maybe the virus is really fake?
Oh but there is a reason to decimate your working class. Skilled, unskilled, who cares, they're all being replaced with automation. Yep. Then what do you do with all these proud workers? Well they're going to demand UBI, and that's going to come from the wealthy people's income, isn't it? So automation won't save them anything anymore because it'll get eaten into by higher taxes, possibly aimed straight at the owners of robots?
Decimate this population, and their families now, and you will have far fewer poeple to support, especially if you can make the case that the non-workers who survive covid don't deserve support because they're unemployed anyway. All the office worker types will probably remain employed, and the service industry also will likely remain available, so you can still assure yourself of consumers for your products. But those workers you're putting out of business will all be dead, right? So there goes the argument for UBI and you just throw the remaining ones on welfare and act like they're worthless anyway.
So yeah, that's why they're telling their target demographic to disbelieve the pandemic. In order to kill them off because they're being replaced by robots.
You think robots aren't ready? There's a machine you can bring onto a construction site and it will safely move around mudding and taping drywall. Drywallers? it'll replace them. Just one unskilled guy operating it and it can go fast enough to replace five or more of the skilled workers. If you can do that, you can do any job. It won't happen overnight but it will happen in the next ten years and the older guys are the ones who'll be a nuisance, but not if they're caught a deadly virus and died or been disabled.
So it's definitely time to push hard for UBI before they succeed.
